"Mixed Emotion" was created with the inspiration of wearing your emotions like a piece of clothing. With this project, I was able to photograph some of my classmates and even my professor in order to use real-life emotion. With the images, I took them into Photoshop and made some adjustments then laid the images within the outlines of my digitized pattern pieces.
The inspiration behind "Fluidity of Time" comes from one of Salvador Dali's most famous paintings "Persistence of Memory". In the painting, he captures a lot of fluid clocks that are anything but "persistent'. Therefore, I wanted to make this garment very fluid and include lots of movement as well as display the iconic clocks from his paintings. For this project, we were able to create a small motif in Photoshop and then format it into the dimensions of the fabrics we selected.
For this crystal-inspired garment, I wanted to be able to capture the essence and healing powers of crystals such as rose quartz. Some believe that these crystals have the abilities to calm the mind and create serenity. Utilizing this information and finding inspiration in the look of crystals, I created this garment. I was able to create a repeated print of a tower of crystals and then added crystal beads to highlight the sheen that crystals have.
